Newsletter Winter 2006. Sharing the Wealth

Dear Friends:
2005 was Purrfectplay's first full year dedicated to the production and sale of our expanding product line. It was a great year! We met wonderful people and their equally wonderful cat & dog companions. Thank you all for helping us build our business.

When we receive pictures of companions using our products, no matter what the day has already provided, our hearts are lifted. For us and for our customers the world is full of animals to love. Unfortunately the world is sometimes too full- many cats and dogs go without love, warmth, food, or protection.

Many of you know that we give 5% of our sales to no-kill and rescue organizations. We do this for selfish reasons. Our home is full; most of the homes of other animal lovers we know are also full. And so... we toss our simple gift into the universal stream. It is what we are able to do.

Some rough numbers from the Humane Society of United States:
http://www.hsus.org/pets/issues_affecting_our_pets/ pet_overpopulation_and_ownership_statistics/hsus_pet_overpopulation_estimates.html There are between 4,000 and 6,000 shelters in the US. 6 to 8 million dogs and cats enter their doors each year. Of these, 3 to 4 million will be euthanized.

Below is the list of those with whom we have shared our 5%. Perhaps you would like to share something extra with one of them, with some organization you know and respect, or with someone struggling to support themselves and their pets? It's all good!

We wish you peace and joy in 2006. Pam Wheelock
